Indians are getting used to paying premium prices for premium products. When the Skoda Fabia was first launched, it was one of the most expensive hatchbacks in the country, but its combination of style, luxe image and ample interior room meant it did appeal to a certain niche. A lot of water has flowed under the bridge since, and the Fabia’s popularity waned with the advent of better-appointed competition which also offered more value. Realising that something needed to be done – and soon – Skoda India have re-launched the Fabia.

How does the German Vento 1.6-litre diesel deal with the Indian conditions? We decided to find out. Perhaps one of the bigger challenges is that the automobile industry has been launching an appealing sedan based on a successful hatchback design. Think about it and immediately you’ll get images of several car models that look as if the wrong boot has been welded onto the hatch by an absent-minded engineer. However, the engineers at Volkswagen did pay a lot of attention while designing it using the Polo and Golf platform. The car looks as if it were always intended to be a three-box design as the boot nicely blends in and, unusual as it may sound, it also has the entire ‘Volkswagen’ name along with the VW badge.

The new Passat was launched by the Volkswagen group in Paris on the eve of the Paris Motor Show and as the car was being unveiled, the first impression was that it looked like a Baby Phaeton. A three-dimensional grille dominates the front of this car. The reverse angle from the headlamps to the grille points downwards and, coupled with the low air intake and the low fog lamps, emphasises the wide look. The front of the new Passat is much sharper than the outgoing model.

This car changes what BMW and the rest of European automakers that small cars wouldn’t work out in America marketplace. This diminutive, sub-3-series sedan with 340 engine is sold in limited numbers in U.S. The weird thing is it proposes you to buy Porsche 911 sensation for $30,000 less.

2. Cadillac CTS-V Coupe SCCA Racer
This model turns to be an amazing thing that a Cadillac does in its laughable battle with BMW and Porsche. This two-door, four-seat, V-8-engineered professional racing coupe is equipped with manual transmission.

3. 2011 Chrysler 300
It offers excellent interior quality that may change the luck of Chrysler overall. Despite of depending on government bailout, analysts still believed that Chrysler could make profit by producing world class cars. This Chrysler 300, with many improvements from its debut, will witness the change of luck.

4. 2012 Fiat 500 Mopar
What a Fiat could do in American marketplace. The brand is simply ignored before it took Chrysler over control. Mopar is a show car attempting to bring altogether Italian style to American wager in a model. The strangest thing is this car would seem incompatible to most American financial condition.

5. 2012 Ford C-Max
It is still absurd seeing what Ford expects from the sale of C-Max in U.S. marketplace. Later, both version of hybrid and gasoline power will go on the market. It is interesting to see how the market react about this pint-size people mover, especially when gas sky-rocketing $1 a gallon.

6. 2011 Hyundai Veloster
Hyundai attempts to penetrate into new luxury sedan segment, while image of being scrappy and questionably for its inexpensive economy and quality issues is still lingering. You may find the Japan’s legendary automaker feature, Honda, in a Korea manufacture. This is what you may expect from this Veloster.

7. Mini Paceman Concept
Once again, you may have an example on how well this Bavarian BMW invests on good thing. Ten years ago, American did not welcome the phrase “expensive small car” proposed by Mini. Nowadays, at Detroit their car concept of sales still sounds ludicrously ambitious. However, the sales are proven to get stronger for the Mini and its offspring.

8. Porsche 918 RSR
Porsche 918 RSR is a mid-engined hybrid supercar producing 767 hp. It’s a race car to be sold in marketplace, coming out of field with exceedingly practical application. 9. 2012 Toyota Prius V
This huge model of Toyota faces a difficulty in satisfying demand. The 2012 version adds only a bit more headroom, and no real upgrade for cargo capacity. It makes no sense. While we couldn’t find any Prius outside Japan ten years ago, it won’t be a hot selling here.

10. 2012 Volkswagen Passat
Idealism changes in business, and market demand does talk. The 2012 VW Passat is evidence to that thing. The brand image is true to reputation of quality and unique style. Now VW has more tolerance to market and decreases its tone.
